OPERATION
NOTE:
The traffic system automatically transitions from
STANDBY
to
OPERATE
mode eight seconds after
takeoff. The system automatically transitions from
OPERATE
to
STANDBY
mode 24 seconds after landing.
After supplying system power, the traffic system is in Standby Mode. The unit must be in Operating Mode for
traffic to be displayed and for TAs to be issued.
Pressing the
OPERATE
Softkey allows the traffic system to switch from Standby Mode to Operating Mode as
necessary. Pressing the
STANDBY
Softkey forces the unit into Standby Mode.
Switching from Operating Mode to Standby Mode:
On the MAP - TRAFFIC MAP Page, press the
STANDBY

to select ‘Standby Mode’.

MAP - TRAFFIC MAP PAGE
The MAP - TRAFFIC MAP Page shows surrounding traffic data in relation to the aircraft’s current position
and altitude, without basemap clutter. It is the principal map page for viewing traffic information. Aircraft
orientation is always heading up unless there is no valid heading. Map range is adjustable with the
Joystick
from two to 40 nm, as indicated by the map range rings.
The traffic mode and altitude display mode are annunciated in the upper left corner of the page.
