1) Remove the guide bar cover (35) from the guide

bar (26) and saw chain (25).
2) Loosen the chain cover (27) for the pole saw a

little by turning the chain cover lock nut (30) anti-

clockwise using the supplied wrench (10mm) (41).

Do not remove the chain cover (27). (Fig. H1)
3) To increase the chain tension, turn the chain

tension adjustment screw (33) clockwise. To

reduce the chain tension, turn the chain tension

adjustment screw (33) anti-clockwise. (Fig. H2)
4) The correct chain tension is reached when the

chain can be raised approx. 3-5 mm from the guide

bar (26) in the center. This should be done by using

one hand to raise the chain against the weight of

the machine. Do not tension the chain too much.

(Fig. H3)
5) After adjusting the chain tension, re-tighten the

chain cover lock nut (30) so the chain cover is secure.

WARNING. Adjust the chain tension

immediately if the saw chain flutters or

comes out of the guide bar groove.

WARNING. The chain tension has a great

influence on the service life of the saw

chain and guide bar. Therefore, it must be

checked regularly. When the saw chain warms up

to operating temperature, the chain tension

changes and must be readjusted. A new saw chain has to be

retensioned more often until it has changed in length.

Preparing the pole hedge trimmer

NOTE: Remove the blade protection covers (38) before using the pole

hedge trimmer.

WARNING. Improper head angle can lead to serious injuries and

cause damage to property. Do not use the device before

adjusting the head angle.
