Using the pole hedge trimmer

WARNING. During cutting work, ensure that no contact is made

with objects, e.g. such as wire fencing or main plant stems. This

may result in damage to the blade.

WARNING. Do not stand directly below a branch being trimmed.

Keep bystanders far away. Do not stand on a ladder or other type

of unstable support while using the device. Do not use the device near

cable, electrical power or telephone lines. Keep 3m (10 ft) away from all

power lines.

WARNING. Always wear a helmet when cutting above your head

height, otherwise you can injure yourself from falling clippings.

1) Use both hands to grip the pole hedge trimmer. Use firm grip. Thumbs

and fingers must wrap around pole hedge trimmer handle and pole.
2) Make sure your footing is firm. Keep feet apart. Divide your weight evenly

on both feet.
3) Switch on the product as described in the chapter “Switching on and off”.

Make sure the blade is running at full speed before starting a cut.
4) For horizontal cutting, you can achieve the best cutting performance by

adjusting the angle of the trimmer (Refer to the chapter “Adjusting the pole

hedge trimmer head angle”) so that the blade tilts slightly downwards when

cutting.
5) When trimming the sides of a hedge, start at the bottom and cut

upwards.

Using the edger

WARNING. While edging, only allow the tip of the blade to make

contact with the area being worked. Do not force the blade. The

edging wheel helps protect the unit and keep the unit from contacting

the ground. Take extra caution while edging as objects can be thrown

from the blade.

1) Hold the device with the right hand on the rear handle and left hand on

the P handle.
2) Make sure your footing is firm. Keep feet apart. Divide your weight evenly

on both feet.
