Safety Information and Instructions

WARNING

To avoid the risk of injury or death, ALWAYS observe the following
precautions before initializing the S153 Ver.2 fusion splicer.

Do not connect both AC and DC power sources at the same

time (Connect one source or the other).

If using a voltage-reducing auto-transformer to power the S153

Ver.2 fusion splicer, ensure that the common terminal connects
to the earthed pole of the power source.

Use only the type of power cord supplied with the S153 Ver.2

fusion splicer.

Connect the power cord to a power outlet equipped with a

protective earth contact only (never connect to an extension
cord that is not equipped with this feature).

Willfully interrupting the protective earth connection is

prohibited.

1.5. Toxic Hazards

The S153 Ver.2 fusion splicer presents no toxic hazards (under normal conditions of use,
storage, and handling). However, under the following conditions, certain precautions are
necessary.
