Main Assembly Board Circuit Description
Core Block
ATMEGA16 (ATMEL, 11.0592MHz RISC Processor) is used as sub processor. The CPU controls
the display backlight and speaker, resets hardware on the power supply port, powers off, and
monitors the power and battery voltage. Also, the CPU has 16 Kbytes flash memory, 512 bytes
EEPROM, 1 Kbyte SRAM, 8-channel, 10-bit ADC, and SCI (Serial Communication Interface)
inside.
GUI Block
The LCD controller inside the main processor (Samsung 32bitRISK processor 3C2440A) is used to
control the TFT LCD and directly controls the LCD monitor.
LED backlight is controlled by the sub processor.

User Control Block
Perform key input for Alarm Silence, NIBP Start/Stop, NIBP Measurement Interval Setup, Home,
Menu, Record keys and Power Supply SW and reads jog dial.
Alarm Indicator Block
Main processor controls lighting of the alarm indicator LED.
Sound Block
Connects sound IC LM4857 on IIC bus and is controlled by the main processor.
USB Interface Block
The USB device controller inside the main processor (Samsung 32bitRISK processor 3C2440A) is
used to control USB and directly interfaces with USB device.
Recorder Interface Block
Serial communication ports, TxD0 and RxD0 inside the main processor (Samsung 32bitRISK
processor 3C2440A) are used to directly communicate with the recorder. The main processor also
monitors the recorder condition and whether recording paper exists.
