19.6 Explanation of 8-/10-bit A/D Converter Operation

The 8-/10-bit A/D converter has three modes: single-shot conversion, continuous conversion, and pause-
conversion. The operation of each mode is explained.

Operation of single-shot conversion mode

In the single-shot conversion mode, the analog input set for the ANS bit and for the ANE bit are converted
sequentially, and A/D conversion stops when conversion for up to the ending channel that was set for the
ANE bit is completed. When the starting and ending channels are the same (ANS = ANE), conversion is
performed for only the channel specified for the ANS bit. To perform conversion in the single-shot
conversion mode, the setting shown in

Figure

19.7

is needed.
