Replacement routines
Replacing the system board
Ê
Adjust the system board with the help of the centering holes. If necessary
adjust the position of the system board with a gentle twisting motion.

CAUTION!
Ensure that the holes of the spring plates are congruent to the standoff
threads (see the red circles in the
figure 19 on page 38
). If necessary
adjust or move the spring plates.
Ê
Fasten the system board with the nine screws.
Ê
Reconnect the cables to their original connectors (see also the cabling plans
in the Options Guide).
Ê
Install the memory modules (for a description see the Options Guide).
Ê
Install the processors and the the heat sinks (for a description see the
Options Guide).
Ê
If removed before: Insert the RAID key (for a description see the Options
Guide).
Ê
Install all controllers in their former slots (for a description see the Operating
Manual and Options Guide).
Ê
Reinstall the traverse, the system fan 2 and the system fan 1 (for a detailed
description see the Options Guide).
Ê
Close the server and connect all power plugs (for a detailed description see
the Options Guide).
Ê
Connect all external cables.

CAUTION!
After installing the new system board, it is necessary to update the BIOS
to ensure proper operation (for a description see the BIOS Manual).

If the customer owns a license key for Advanced Video Redirection and
Remote Storage (iRMC2 Advanced Pack), the license key has to be
loaded onto the iRMC S2 via the iRMC S2 web interface (description see
manual „PRIMERGY ServerView Suite iRMC S2 - integrated Remote
Management Controller“) after replacing the system board.
