System Start-Up
Microprocessor Control Panel
1. Turn
ON
the main power switch on the front panel of the Dura-Dry II MP Condenser Module. This
switch is also a circuit breaker. If the unit draws too much current, the breaker will switch to the
OFF
position.
2. On the front of the microprocessor is a
START/STOP
key. Press this key until you hear an
audible beep. A two to three second delay has been built into this keypad to prevent inadvertent
activation of the system.
3. The system will start up in the correct sequential order. The red out-of-range light labeled
VOLTAGE
will light for about two seconds when power is first applied to the system. If this red
light remains on then the voltage supply is too low to run the system. The
START/STOP
keypad
should be pressed thereby deactivating the system. The voltage supply at the wall should be
checked. The wall voltage must be within 5% of the voltage listed on the serial tag. The voltage
may need to be checked while the Dura-Dry II MP is running since open circuit voltage may be
correct, but inadequate wiring has caused the power delivered to the machine to drop. A
buck/boost transformer may be necessary if adequate voltage cannot be provided. The Dura-Dry
II MP can be operated with low voltage for short periods of time, but you may not reach ultimate
low on temperature or vacuum. Additionally the operation of the system on inadequate power
may significantly reduce the life of the system.
4. Allow the system to stabilize for a period of 15 to 30 minutes. A dry clean and empty system
should indicate a condenser temperature at or below the maximum low specified. The pressure in
the system should register between 10 to 30mT. If a good vacuum is not achieved please refer to
the vacuum trouble shooting procedure section of this manual. If the system does not achieve
specifications please call the
FTS Service Department
or your local representative.
5. Once you have determined that the system is working properly, turn off the system by pressing
the
DEFROST
keypad. The system will turn itself off in the correct sequential order.
If you use the main power
ON/OFF
switch to deactivate the system it will interpret this as a power
interruption. The next time the system is turned on the power interruption safety loop will be
activated and you will be signaled that a power interruption has occurred.
The product addition station that you have ordered (Tray Dryer or Manifold system) should be
added to the system at this time. Please refer to the instructions for your product addition station.
