most likely also be on. If the system has seen this condition for a
period of time, the audible signal may also be on. With all Tray
Dryers this condition will result in the activation of the Overload
Safety Loop. If you are using a manifold with this system you,
consult the VACUUM OUT OF RANGE SECTION that follows.
The VACUUM OUT
OF RANGE light is
illuminated.
If the Out of Range VACUUM light is on for more that 10 minutes
during start-up of the system, an audible signal will sound. Check all
of the Quick-Vac Valves, seating of the manifold, the connection of
vacuum tubing, the drain line plug, and make sure that the vacuum
pump main power switch (on the pump) is on. Turn off the system
by pressing the START/STOP key pad and then turn the system on
again. If the system does not pull down after checking the above
mentioned potential leak spots, please contact the FTS Service
Department.
OR
If during a lyophilization run the OUT OF RANGE light for VACUUM
turns on and remains on, the system will sound an audible alarm.
Should the vapors in the product have high vapor pressures and be
large in quantity, the flashing off of these vapors may translate as a
high pressure. Close a Quick-Vac Valve that has a product
container on it and remove the product container (storing it in a
location where it will remain frozen). Wait approximately five
minutes. If the removal of the product container does not result in a
parameter change try removing another container. Continue this
until the system is within parameter.
(Consult the TD/TDS manual for problems with Tray Dryers)
The acrylic
condenser end cap is
hazing or has hair
line cracks.
This is caused by organic solvents coming in contact with the end
plate. After a period of time the deterioration of this end cap will
result in vacuum leaks and possible implosion of the end cap.
Consequently, a deteriorated end cap should be replaced. The end
cap may be replaced with one of a polypropylene configuration. This
will result in greater durability but loss of visual access to the
condenser.
