Troubleshooting
General
The VOLTAGE light is
illuminated.
If the red out of range VOLTAGE light is on during the start-up of the
system (after the START/STOP keypad is pressed) the power
supply source to the system is inadequate. The power source
should be checked at the outlet and compared to the electrical
requirement on the serial tag. If other laboratory devices are on the
same circuit a dedicated line may be required.
OR
If the voltage light comes on, and stays on, during operation of the
system, this indicates a decrease in voltage or brown out. The
system can be run for short periods of time until the power company
restores full voltage. However, extensive use of this system on a low
voltage supply will decrease the life of the refrigeration
compressor(s).
OR
Should the microprocessor reactivate the entire system after a
power interruption the VOLTAGE red light will blink for the duration
of the run.
OR
If the voltage light blinks on and off after the power is restored, an
audible alarm is sounded and the word HELP is displayed in the
VACUUM display window, the power failure was of a long enough
duration for the microprocessor to choose not to start-up again. The
system vacuum will be broken and the refrigeration reactivated;
however the vacuum pump will remain off.
The TEMP light is
illuminated.
If the system fails to reach temperature during system start-up or
during the freeze-drying run, the OUT OF RANGE light for TEMP
will be on. If the VOLTAGE light is on it indicates that the power
supply is inadequate, refer to the VOLTAGE section above.
OR
If the red OUT OF RANGE light for TEMP is on and there is product
on the system this may be due to an overloading of the system with
product vapor. In this case the VACUUM OUT OF RANGE light will
