Insufficient flow of cooling air
Ensure an adequate flow of cooling air
Power section badly soiled
Open up the unit and blow clean with dry
compressed air
No function when torch trigger is pressed
Ready indicator is lit up, no welding current -
feeder motor is not running - no shielding gas
Plug in and latch the control plug, check plug-in
connections and change where necessary
Repair or replace torch
Torch control plug not plugged in or plug-in connec-
tor is faulty
Torch trigger or torch control lead is faulty
Check or replace fuse 2F7
No negative supply
Plug in the cooling-unit plug, the right way
around, and latch it into place
FK71 cooling unit is not running, 5-pole cooling-unit
plug is not plugged in
FK71 cooling unit is not running - fuse 2F3 is faulty
Change fuse on VM34 auxiliary transformer.
Change fuse on VM34 auxiliary transformer.
Fuse 2F4 is faulty - fan in FK71 cooling unit is not
running
Change fan
Fan in the power source is faulty
Fuse 2F5 for machine fan is faulty
Change fuse on VM34 auxiliary transformer
Arc-outs occur from time to time
Ready indicator is lit up, over/undervoltage
indicator lights up for approx. 10 s.
Program selector switch is in wrong position
Correct the program selection
Wrong remote-control unit is being used
Use a TR34 T.I.M.E. or TP4-SP remote-control
unit, or work without a remote-control unit
Ready indicator is lit up, Manual / NoProgram
indicator is flashing
A mains phase is missing
Transient mains voltage fluctuations cause over/
undervoltage watchdog to cut out occasionally
Check mains supply lead
Check mains voltage
No open-circuit voltage
Ready indicator is lit up, feeder motor is
running
Over/undervoltage watchdog has cut out
Check mains voltage
Check open-circuit voltage on m/min - mm - V
indicator (approx. 51V)
Check / change fuse 2F8 on VM34 auxiliary
transformer.
Ensure good contact to workpiece
Earthing cable not connected
Welding torch is faulty
Change torch
+ pole of interconnecting cable is not connected
Plug in the cable and latch it
Program selector switch is in wrong position
Poor welding properties
Unsteady arc - heavy spatter losses
Correct the program selection
Standard program was welded using a T.I.M.E.
torch
Use a standard torch and keep the stick-out short
Use the arc-length correction dial to optimise the
length of the arc
In Program mode: Arc is too short or too long
In Manual mode:
Operating point is not set to
optimum values
Co-ordinate the parameters for welding voltage,
wirefeed speed and arc force (see tables of
guideline values printed on machine)
Correct the arc force with the TR34 T.I.M.E.
remote-control unit in Standard-Manual mode
Arc force is too hard
Interconnecting cable is faulty or not connected
Check the interconnecting cable
