CEL
N.B.!
Owing to the characteristic, it is not possible to weld CEL electrodes
with the T.I.M.E. Synergic.
Welding current dial
... for continuous setting of the welding current in
the 3-150A and 100-450A ranges
Hot-Start dial
... 0 - 100% of the pre-set welding current; only effective
in the electrode ignition phase
N.B.!
The maximum Hot-Start total current is automatically limited by the
short-circuit current.
Range switch
... subdivides the overall welding range of the machine into
two separate but overlapping ranges
Polarity reverser
... no function
Arc-force dial
... for influencing the short-circuit force at the instant of
droplet transfer
Connection socket for remote-control cable
Warning!
Before starting to use for the first time, read the section
headed Safety rules.
UTILISATION FOR INTENDED PURPOSE ONLY
The welding machine is intended to be used SOLELY for MIG/MAG, rod
electrode and TIG welding.
Any other use, or any use going beyond the above, is deemed to be not for
the intended purpose and the manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage
resulting therefrom.
Utilisation for the intended purpose shall also be deemed to encompass:
- the observance of all instructions in the operating manual
- the carrying out of all prescribed inspection and maintenance work
Warning!
Never use the welding machine for thawing frozen pipes!
MACHINE SET-UP REGULATIONS
The welding machine is tested to Degree of protection IP21, meaning:
- Protection against penetration by solid foreign bodies with diameters larger
than 12 mm
- Protection against dripping water falling vertically
The welding machine can be set up and operated outdoors in accordance with
IP21. However, the built-in electrical components must be protected against
direct wetting.
Warning!
Place the welding machine on an even, firm floor in such
a way that it stands firmly. A welding machine that topples over can
easily kill someone.
The venting duct is a very important safety feature. When choosing the
machine location, make sure that it is possible for the cooling air to enter and
exit unhindered through the louvers on the front and back of the machine. Any
metallic dust from e.g. grinding-work must not be allowed to get sucked into
the machine.
PLUG THE MACHINE INTO THE MAINS
Warning!
Mains plugs must be suitable for the mains voltage and the
current input of the welding machine (see Technical Data)
Warning!
For details of fuse protection of the mains supply lead,
please see the Technical Data.
MAINS CONNECTION
The welding machine is designed to run on the mains voltage given on the
rating plate. For details of fuse protection of the mains supply lead, please see
the Technical Data.
Warning!
The power source is factory-connected for 400 V. This
means that thanks to its +/-10% tolerance range, the power source
can also be run on the 3x380 V ~ mains. In the event of undervoltage
or overvoltage errors, the voltage range must be corrected by
reconnecting the plug-type connectors (on the VM 34 auxiliary
transformer board) for the correct supply voltage.
For mains voltages of 3x230V~, 3x440V~ or 3x500V~, a FRONIUS series
transformer must be used. This can be readily retrofitted, and can be mounted
between the trolley and the power source. On request, the power source can
also be designed for 3x440V~ or 3x500V~.
