The wheel speed is determined by dividing the number of ticks by the time for this ticks to occur.
m = c(n) - c(n-1) number of events between two consecutive CPU read access
wheel speed = m / t1(n) - t(n-1) - if m even
wheel speed = (m+1) / t1(n) - t0(n-1) - if m odd
Average wheel speed = (y - x) / t(y) - t(x)
Note that T24CAPA is coherent with T24CAPB and also to EVCNT register (8-bit event counter).
T24CAPB is only updated when T24CAPA is accessed for read providing coherent data if T24CAPA is
read before T24CAPB in Wheel Speed mode out of freeze. Also T24CAPA and EVCNT are coherent since
they are accessed at the same 32-bit read access.
describes the wheel speed measurement for rising-edge sensor. In this case the T24CAPA
register is only triggered on the rising edges of the sensor output signal. This type of sensor uses the pulse
width to transmit additional information. Thus it is important to determine the pulse width, high time or
low time, of the sensor signal which is implemented by the T16PWCNT counter and T16PWCAP register
in the pulse width measurement logic.
