30.2.1.3
VDD3p3
When the internal 3.3V voltage regulator is enabled, this pin must be connected to an external bypass
capacitor of 440nF - 2uF with low ESR (max 50 mOhm). If the voltage regulator is not powered (pin
VDDREG to ground), this pin must be connected to an external 3.3V supply.
Under test mode 3.3V
regulated supply can be provided by an external source. If VDDREG < 2.6V, the 3.3V reg is turned-off
and N-well bias must be the higher voltage between VDDEH and VDD3p3. If 2.7V < VDDEH < VDD3p3,
a drain-well diode in the 3.3V reg will be forward biased to bias the N-well.
30.2.1.4
VDD1p2
This is the 1.2V supply coming from the emitter of an external NPN ballast transistor, whose base current
is supplied by VRC1p2. If the internal voltage regulator controller is not powered (pin VDDREG tied to
ground) or the external ballast transistor is not present, the VDD1p2 pin must be connected to an external
1.2V power supply.
For maximum transient performance, the recommended bypass capacitor for each pin that supplies the
digital core is 20uF - 100uF with very low ESR (max 10 mOhm). A ceramic capacitor is also desirable,
with 200 nF to 1uF capacitance. When switching current load is lower, it is possible to reduce the
requirements of the bypass capacitor to 1uF - 5 uF and 100 mOhm ESR.

1.2V regulator output that drives the base of the external NPN transistor.
30.3
Memory Map/Register Definition
shows the PMC memory map. The PMC memory map has 3 registers for configuring,
monitoring, and trimming the LVI monitors.
30.3.1
Configuration and Status Register (CFGR)
The configuration register contains configuration, interrupt enable and interrupt flag bits for the LVI
monitors. LVI resets and interrupts are only enabled when the voltage regulator is enabled
(VDDREG=5V). If the user wants to disable the regulators and supply the voltages externally, it is also
necessary to provide the LVI monitoring externally.
