ACCESSING MODULE IDENTIFICATION
This function provides all of the specifics of the module that is
currently being worked with on the NGS screen.
ACCESSING THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE
CODE LIBRARY
The NGS provides you with a library of diagnostic codes and
their correct definitions. To access this library, a vehicle must
be selected.
The diagnostic trouble code library is accessed by selecting
diagnostic data link from the main menu.
1. Select the system (PCM, ABS, etc.)
2. Select DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE LIBRARY.
3. The screen that appears shows the following:
4. The selected vehicle (94 3.8L AUTO MUSTANG in the
example)
5. The selected diagnostic trouble code (DTC) - (P0100 in the
example). Use the scroll bar to change the DTC.
6. The selected group (powertrain, chassis, etc.) -
(POWERTRAIN in the example). Use the numeric keypad keys
to switch groups.
In this example:
P = powertrain
C = chassis
B = body
U = network
To find the definition of a code you are familiar with, or which
came up during a test, push the numeric keypad number that
corresponds to FIND. In this example, it is number 7.
PRINT
Use print to print out all the DTCs for the selected group.
