LESSON 3

NOTES

PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORDER

The screen displays the PlDs available for testing. The tests
available vary depending on the system being diagnosed
(PCM, ABS, etc.) and the vehicle and engine that have been
selected.

The selected PlDs, along with their values, are displayed in
“real time” during the recording session and can be stored in
designated recording areas.

Pressing button 3 (DEFN), allows you to see the definition for
each PID on screen as you scroll through the displayed PlDs
using the scroll dial.

Press 3 again to deselect the DEFN function.

Pressing button 4 (under the arrow) allows you to switch from
the active screen to the inactive screen. If the right hand
screen (PID list) is active, the arrow poinst to the left. If the left
hand screen (System list) is active, the arrow points to the
right.
