Shortcut buttons
The coloured buttons on the remote control are used as shortcut keys in the menu system, but can also be programmed
to carry out various functions while you are watching TV. The functions available are the same as those for the shortcut
key, described in section 9.1.
In the various menus/tables, the coloured shortcut buttons and their functions can be seen at the top of the page, just
under the menu title. The functions of the shortcut button can be programmed for use while you watch TV
programmes:
•
Go into the main menu and highlight SETUP. Press OK.
•
Highlight PERSONAL SETTINGS. Press OK.
•
Highlight REMOTE CONTROL. Press OK.

Controlling the source of your TV signal
This section applies where you use SCART connections from your receiver to the TV set or any other equipment.
SCART cables work on the principle that the unit at one end is in control. When the Force receiver is active, it controls
the TV and the signal which appears on the TV screen comes from the receiver.
Similarly with a VCR or DVD connected via the VCR SCART connector on the receiver, the VCR is the source of the signal
when it is playing.
If you want the TV set to select its own input,
•
press ‘0’ on the remote control
•
press OK to bring up the selection
•
select Tv/Sat and press OK
Alternatively, you can set up one of the shortcut buttons to make the Tv/Sat switch, as described in section 9.2.
In this mode, you can select an analogue signal on the TV set and that will be routed via the Force receiver to the VCR.
In addition, if your TV set has the facility to accept a video input directly, this can also be routed to the VCR.
You can reverse this if you press ‘0’ again twice.
Similarly, if you want the VCR to be able to receive an input on the SCART cable, for instance from the Force receiver,
•
press ‘0’ on the remote control
•
press OK to bring up the selection
•
select Tv/Sat and press OK
Again this can be reversed by pressing ‘0’ again twice.

Conditional Access (CA) Management
Some channels are restricted to viewers who pay for them. To watch these channels you need to obtain the correct
programme card, usually from your dealer or programme provider. These cards are inserted in the slots on the right, as
shown in section 3.2. Insert the cards with the gold contacts facing downwards.
You can check which the status of any cards plugged in to your receiver from the main menu by selecting CA
MANAGEMENT.
NOTE:
If you have a Free-to-air receiver (Model 320T-FTA), this function does not appear in the menu.
