The sections of the machine power leads, which are dependent on the total power absorbed by the machine,
will be established in the technical design stage, as will any supply voltages that differ from the standard ones
provided for.

ELECTRICAL AND PNEUMATIC CONNECTION (Figg. 07-01 / 07-02)
Preliminary operations
To put the machine into service it must first be checked that the mains power supply is efficient, safe and
reliable, protected by an automatic supply line switch and properly earthed. This applies also to the compressed
air supply which must be of sufficient section for the required capacity and must have a valve so that the supply
can be cut off to the machine. If the air distribution line is of considerable length, then appropriate release barrels
must be provided at suitable points to drain off the condensation .
Before carrying out any operations of this sort, make sure that the power supply available is the same as that
required by the machine. Check that the main power switch
“A”
(400 V – three-phase) is set to position
“0”
(zero) and that the pneumatic master switch
“A1”
is set to
“0”
(zero).
The machine does not come supplied with electrical power leads (400V three-phase and 230V single-phase)
and without the relative cable glands.
The electrical power lead to the machine must enter through the top part of the electrical cabinet: to carry out
this operation remove the closing panel
“B”
, make two holes of suitable size to insert the relative cable glands
and then fix again the panel with the cable glands on the top of the cabinet.
For the 400V connection, attach the power lead to the 3 phases L1, L2, L3 of the main switch terminal block
inside the cabinet.
Connect the external protective lead to the equipotential point PE of the switch.
For the 230V connection, attach the power lead to the auxiliary contacts of the main switch.
Protect the 400V power lead from current overloads and short circuit with a suitable thermal magnetic switch.
Protect the 230V power lead from current overloads and short circuit with a suitable thermal magnetic switch
that has a trigger time of = 0.4 sec.
Protect the direct and indirect contacts with a differential that has a differential current I
d
= 0.5 A for the 400V
three-phase and a differential that has I
d
= 0.03 A for the 230V single phase.
The instruction to use a = 0.5 A differential for the 400V three-phase derives from the fact that, especially when
the machine is turned on or off, there are spurious currents in the supply line generated by the machine mains
filter in excess of 30 mA and which could also be in addition to other dispersion currents generated by other
machines present in the factory and protected by the same differential switch.
