7.13 Coolant circuit maintenance
7.13.1 Ventilation of the coolant circuit / freshwater
Attention Special notes for the ventilation of the cooling system
If the cooling water is drained, or if other air has entered the
cooling system, it is necessary to ventilate the cooling
system.
This ventilating procedure must be repeated several times:
The generator must be switched off before opening the
ventilating points!
Pay attention that the external coolant expansion tank is
connected with the generator by the intended
connection point.
Further it should be guaranteed that the expansion tank
is attached in sufficient height (600 m) over the level of
the generator exhaust elbow union.

1. Open the ventilating screw above the cooling water pump
casing. Not present at all models
Use spanner size 10 mm.
