9.4.3 Planing
Operation
Adjust the bridge guard:
Cover the entire planer with the guard rail and set it only
slightly higher than the thickness of the workpiece.
At a workpiece thickness of 75 mm or greater, move
the guard rail up to the workpiece and let it rest on the
planer table.

Machining the workpiece:
1.
Take note of general procedures for authorized
working techniques.
2. Push the board under the bridge guard with both
hands.
3. As soon as the board extends far enough into the
receiving planer table, place your left hand onto it
and push it evenly over the cutterblock.
4. Place the board into its initial position over the bridge
guard.
5. Ensure that your hands are placed on the workpiece
in a closed position with the thumbs against the
closed hands.
9.4.2 General procedures for authorised working techniques
1. Switch the machine off before starting to machine.
2. Ensure there are sufficient extension options
(accessories).
3. Keep handling auxiliaries at hand:
(see: Tools and Accessories catalogue)
• Pushing stick
• Push grip

If required, and depending on the previous machine
use:
• Adjusting the depth of cut
• Adjusting the planer fence

5. Extraction system must be connected.
6. Properly adjust both planer tables.
7. Only switch the machine on once the workpiece has
been placed in the correct machinable position.
8.
When planing, lead the workpiece evenly with clo-
sed fingers.
8. Never place your hands on the workpiece over the
cutterblock.
9. If you are not going to continue working, switch off
the machine and secure it against being turned on
again accidentally.
