5.18 Clean the fuel screen

Note
Clean the fuel screen filter only when the engine is
cold.
!
Caution
Fire hazard!
Gasoline is easily inflammable, do not spill.
When working on the fuel system do not use
open fire, do not smoke.

Open the fuel tap (Fig. 53) by turning in direc-
tion of arrow.

Caution
Environmental damage!
Catch running out fuel, do not let it seep into
the ground and dispose off environmentally.

Unscrew the fuel sludge filter 1 (Fig. 54) and
drain off all gasoline.
l
Check seal ring (2) for cracks, replace the seal
if damaged.
l
Screw the fuel sludge filter with sealing ring (2)
in tightly.

Remove the fuel tank.

For this purpose unscrew hexagon nut (1)
(Fig. 55) and hexagon screw (2).
