Instructions for towing
The driver must stay inside the automobile to be
towed and exercise control over it.
Danger
When the engine is not running, the vacuum
booster may not operate. Therefore, higher
braking force is required.
To ensure safety, do not use tow hooks if
automobile towing is not performed on solid
pavement.
When your automobile is being towed, do not
pull out the ignition key, and do not set it to the
"LOCK" position.
The automobile being towed might lose the
steering capacity and cause an accident.
Automobile towing
1. Release the parking brakes, and set the
transmission to the neutral position.
2. When the engine is shut down, set the ignition
switch to the “ACC” position; or set the ignition
switch to the “ON” position while the engine is
running.
Towing other automobile
The rear tow hook used for towing other automobile
is located on the left side of the car body.
1. Wrap the flat screwdriver with cloth or similar
materials, and insert the screwdriver into the
slot in the cap. Remove the cap.
2. Turn the tow hooks as indicated by the arrow,
and insert it. Use a hub wrench to tighten up the
tow hook.
Danger
Do not exceed the maximum towing speed locally
specified.
Warning
It is prohibited to tow an automobile heavier
than that of your own automobile so as not to
deteriorate the transmission system or damage
the tow hooks fitted on the car body.
Do not use the hook as a holdup hook. The car
body might be damaged if you fail to observe
the warning. The tow hook is designed only for
towing other automobile.
Tow hook must be towed right ahead so as not
to damage the tow hooks. Do not apply pulling
forces edgewise or vertically. In addition,
towing must not be performed violently.
