8. For broadcast spraying:
It is recommended that the operator make one
pass around a fi eld to start and then spray back
and forth to obtain the best results. Using a
marker system helps to prevent skips or over-
lap.
If your fi eld has headlands, be sure to allow suf-
fi cient space for turning.
9. For row crop spraying, start at one edge of the
fi eld and go back and forth until the fi eld is
completed.
10. Be sure the sprayer is calibrated, the nozzle
height and pressure are known and the tractor
gear and RPM are determined before starting
to spray (see Section 4.9).

11. Proceed down the fi eld
at a constant speed. Use
the selected gear, engine
RPM and ground speed
determined during the
calibration of the ma-
chine application rate.
12. Place the Master Boom
switch in the OFF posi-
tion and the appropriate
Boom switches in the ON
position.
13. Turn the booms ON with
the Boom Master switch
as the nozzles pass over
the edge of the already
sprayed headland and
come to the area to be
sprayed. Use the indi-
vidual boom switches as
appropriate when fi nish-
ing a fi eld.
14. When completing a
pass and approaching
the sprayed headland,
maintain the tractor RPM
and ground speed until
the nozzles have covered
all the plants. This will
insure a consistent ap-
plication rate at the ends
of the fi eld.
