WARNINGS ON BATTERY USE
• If the appliance is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries and store in a cool, dry place
at room temperature.
• DO NOT recharge batteries unless they are rechargeable.
• Rechargeable batteries must ONLY be recharged as indicated in the manual provided with them and
using the appliances indicated by the manufacturer.
• NEVER expose batteries to sources of heat and direct sunlight.
• Failure to observe this precaution may damage the batteries and/or cause them to explode.
• Do NOT incinerate, even when the batteries are exhausted.
Risk of explosion!
• Use batteries of the same type and replace them at the same time.
• Batteries must be removed or replaced by an adult.
• Keep the batteries out of the reach of children: swallowing batteries can be fatal. If swallowed, seek
medical advice immediately.
• The acid inside the batteries is corrosive. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
• If the battery liquid comes into contact with the skin and eyes, wash the affected area with water and
seek medical advice.
• In the case of battery liquid leakage, use protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a
dry cloth. Dispose of the materials used for cleaning.
WARNINGS ON ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
• This device should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment and that if adjacent
or stacked use is necessary, this device should be observed to verify normal operation in the con-
figuration in which it will be used.
• Use of accessories other than those specified or provided by the manufacturer of this device
could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic immunity of
this equipment and result in improper operation.
• Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and exter-
nal antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm to any part of the device, including cables spe-
cified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this device could result.
• When the operating environment is relatively dry, strong electromagnetic interference usually
occurs. At this time, the device may be affected as follows:
- the device stops working;
- the device turns off;
- the device restarts;
The above phenomenons do not affect the basic safety and essential performance of the device,
and the user can use it according to the instruction. If you want to avoid the above phenomenons,
please use it according to the present instructions for use.
Additional quantitative data regarding electromagnetic compatibility are available from Farmamed and
can be obtained upon request.

IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
GENERAL INFORMATION
1) How TENS works for pain relief
This device has two output channel and is effective in relieving pain. Transcutaneous Electrical
Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a noninvasive, drug-free method of controlling pain. TENS uses tiny
electrical impulses sent through the skin to the nerves to modify pain perception. In most patients,
it is effective in reducing or eliminating the pain, allowing for a quick return to normal activity.
Electrical stimulation therapy may work in several ways:
• electrical pulses move through the skin to nearby nerves to block the pain message from the
source of pain from ever reaching the brain;
• electrical pulses increase the production of endorphins, the body’s natural pain killer.
2) How EMS works for muscle stimulation
EMS works by sending electronic pulses to the muscle; this causes the muscle to exercise passively.
With voluntary activity, the brain orders muscles to contract and a command is then sent to nerve
fibres in the form of an electrical signal. This signal is then sent to muscle fibres, which contract.
The principle of electrostimulation accurately reproduces the process involved in a voluntary con-
traction. The stimulator sends an electrical impulse to nerve fibres to excite them. This excitation is
then transmitted to muscle fibres and results in a basic mechanical response (a twitch). This is the
basic requirement for muscular contraction. The muscular response is to all intents and purposes
identical to the one stimulated by the brain. Programme settings (number of impulses per second,
duration of contraction, rest time, total programme duration) subject the muscle to various types
of work. Various types of muscle fibres can be identified according to their respective contraction
speeds: slow, intermediate and fast fibres. A sprinter clearly has more fast fibres and a marathon
runner has more slow fibres. With good knowledge of human physiology and full control of stimu-
lation settings of the various programmes, muscular work can be specifically pinpointed to achieve
the desired objective (muscular strengthening, increased blood circulation, firming, etc.).
Such information should always be shared through a medical interview and a specialist supervi-
sion.
3) Benefits of electrostimulation
Electrostimulation is an effective method for making muscles work:
•
with a significant improvement in various muscular qualities;
•
with limited stress exerted on joints and tendons. Electrostimulation thereby enables more mu-
scular work than voluntary activity.
For optimum results, it’s opportune supplementing your electrostimulation sessions with other
commitments, such as:
•
regular physical exercise;
• a balanced and healthy diet;
• a balanced lifestyle.
4) Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMS)
Dynamic muscle stimulation (DMS) means to give dynamic stimulation to a group of muscle.
The stimulation impulse can be adjusted in terms of intensity, duration, frequency and direction.
By managing impulse frequency, impulse time, impulse intensity, contraction and rest time, it al-
lows choosing work on mainly fast, slow or both types of muscle fiber, to choose a relaxing or a
stimulating effect, developing strength, endurance or speed, improving vascularisation or micro-
circulation. DMS could work on multi fibers, thus increases the strength of a whole muscle group
involved and the muscle mass.
