Note:
The route options available depend on the selected profile.
Ask departure time
Every time you navigate using the “
Clever
” route option, the current time and the current day
of the week will be used by the system. If you wish to plan a tour or actually wish to travel the
route at a different time, you have the option of entering the day and the time you desire prior
to calculating the route. This is the only way to ensure that the information available at this
time about the volume of traffic which you have obtained from Intelligent Navigation can be
used in a meaningful way on the route.
Requirement
: To be able to define a point in
time, the button
Ask departure time
must be
activated on the
Settings menu
.
Note
: If you do not define a different time for the
start of your navigation, the current system time
will always be used for calculating the route.
You can use the arrow keys by the box on the left
to define the day of the week on which you wish
to travel. To do this, tap on the up and down arrows.
Note
: If you want to travel on a
public holiday
, set the day of the week to
Sunday
.
In the other boxes, you can enter the
time
you are planning to set off at. To do this, use the
arrow buttons to select the hours (middle) and the minutes (right).
You will find further information about
Learning navigation
in the section on Route options
6.
If you do not want to change these settings, the route calculation can be started immediately
by tapping on the
Calculate
button.
Route calculation
will take a few seconds, depending on your distance from your chosen
destination.
Destination entry by selecting from the map view
If you do not know the exact address of your destination but know where it is located on the
map, you can manually select it from the map view.
To do so, first enter the
country
and the
town/city
and confirm your selection by tapping
the corresponding line in the search results list. The centre of the town/city will be marked.
Tap the Map button. Tapping the +/- buttons in the map view will bring up a scroll bar. You
can enlarge or reduce the map view using the scroll bar.
On the map, tap the location of your desired destination. The destination symbol which takes
the form of a push-pin is moved to this location.
Tap
Calculate
in order to start the route calculation process. Before the route is calculated,
you have the option of changing the Route options (see Chapter 2.4.1) provided that you
have activated the
Ask route options
menu point in the settings menu. However, you can
begin calculating the route at any time by tapping
Calculate
again.
