1.3 Safety and help functions

1.3.1 Theft protection

You can protect your navigation device from being used by unauthorised people by setting
up theft protection with a personal PIN number.

Note:

Theft protection can only be activated/changed using the Falk Navi-Manager PC

program (cf. Chapter 5). Your personal PIN number is stored on your PC and can be viewed
again at any time.

Requirements:

PC with WinXP

, Windows Vista

or Windows 7, active Microsoft®

ActiveSync® (alternatively Microsoft® Mobile Device Center®, component of Windows
Vista

and Windows 7)

Note:

Theft protection satisfies the highest security standards. Please note that, when theft

protection is activated and switched on, there is

possibility of using your navigation

device without entering the correct PIN number.

Setting up theft protection via the Navi-Manager

Use a USB cable to connect your navigation device to your PC and establish an
ActiveSync® connection.

Choose Define partnership>No and then click on Next.

Start up the Falk Navi-Manager. On the

menu

of the

Navi-Manager

select

Options>Theft

protection.

Enter a personal PIN with as many digits as you wish (but you may only use numbers) and
make sure you remember it. Confirm by tapping

Disconnect your navigation device from your PC. Theft protection is now set up and
activated.

Changing PIN via Navi-Manager

Note:

If a PIN has already been set up and this has been activated on the Settings menu,

you must first enter the PIN in order to be able to establish a connection to the Navi-
Manager.

Use a USB cable to connect your navigation device to your PC and establish an
ActiveSync® connection.

Choose Define partnership>No and then click on Next.

Start up the Falk Navi-Manager. On the

menu

Navi-Manager

select

Options>Theft

protection.

Change your personal PIN (but you may only use numbers) and make sure you remember it.
Confirm by tapping
