The series of on-line UPS units with double conversion topology provides excellent
protection of the connected receivers, e.g. IT systems, and filters interferences in the
power supply line. The AC input may be corrected depending on the wave of the
power supply voltage by a high power factor correction circuit. Thanks to PWM
control, the input voltage may take the form of clean, stable sine.
If the mains parameters are faulty, the controller will shut down the AC/DC section
and promptly start the DC/DC unit, in order to maintain the uninterrupted operation of
the DC/AC section (inverter). Once the mains parameters are back to correct values,
the DC/DC section stops and AC/DC takes over again. This way, if the UPS is on,
the receiver is always protected by the inverter, with no interruptions.
The UPS features an external bypass to provide power to receivers directly from the
mains, in case the UPS is damaged.
The UPS has a built-in battery charger that will be charging the battery if the network
parameters are acceptable, except when the unit is in the back-up mode or in the
battery test mode.
