POWER CONNECTIONS

Connecting an external battery module

WARNING:

Before connecting a battery pack to the UPS make sure that

the battery pack's safeguard is OFF. Once the electric connection with

the UPS is established, switch the safeguard to ON.

CAUTION:

Each battery module contains two battery connectors. The first battery

pack is connected to the UPS with a cabled attached to the product. Each additional

battery pack should be connected with its cable to the previous module.

External battery packs (if they are to be used) should be connected to the UPS

before the unit is connected to the mains.

Follow this procedure to connect external battery packs:

1. Switch battery pack circuits safeguards (in each battery pack) to OFF.

2. Connect the battery pack and the UPS with the supplied cable.

3. Connect the next battery pack to the already connected one.

4. "Daisy chain" all battery packs.

5. Connect the battery pack detection cable to the RJ11 port in the back of the UPS

and the RJ11 port in the back of the first battery pack.

6. Connect the battery pack detection cable to an RJ11 port in the back of the first

battery module and the RJ11 port in the back of the second battery pack.

7. "Daisy chain" the remaining battery packs with the supplied detection cables.

8. Switch circuits safeguards on all battery packs to ON.

Once all external battery packs are connected, make all necessary connections

between inputs and outputs as described below.
