Mode Selector
The mode selector is located left from the display. The selected mode is
indicated by letters on the left side of the display.
OFF
By turning clockwise, the responder is switched on. The responder must
be switched off during engine starting.
SBY
Standby mode. The last active identification code will be indicated on the
display. The responder will not transmit any code in SBY mode. This is
standard mode of the responder if the airplane is moving on the ground.
ON
The unit is located in the mode for transmitting Mode A/S code. The last
active identification code is selected. In this mode the responder will
respond to request for transmitting Mode A/C/S code, however, the
transmitted code will not include altitude data.
ALT
By pressing ALT button the responder will be switched to transmitting
identification codes Mode A and Mode C. In this mode the responder will
respond to requests for transmitting identification code and will transmit
data on pressure flight altitude.
Code Setting Selector
Code setting is carried out by means of the selector on the right side of the
display. It is possible to select any of 4096 possible codes. The selected code
must be in conformity with the instructions for flights according to VFR
conditions.
VFR Code Setting
1. Press the button to open the SEL menu.
2. Turn the code selector until the inscription VFR=xxxx appears on the display.
3. Press the code selector – the left character on the display will start flashing.
4. By turning code selector, set the required number.
5. Repeat the action in points 3 and 4 for setting next numbers.
6. By pressing the STO button, save the code in the device memory.
Important codes
NOTE
Avoid, in common operation, the accidental setting of
codes which are intended for emergencies: 7500,
7600 a 7700.
•
1200 - VFR code for any altitude in the USA
•
7000 - VFR code for any altitude in Europe
•
7500 – code for a hijacked airplane
