Step 5: Installing the LAN Driver

Click Start.
!
Select Settings and Control Panel.
!
Double click the System icon.
!
Click the Device Manager tab.
!
Click on “+” to the left of “Network adapters”.
!
Double click on “Realtek RTL8139(A/B/C/8130) PCI Fast Ethernet
NIC”
!
Click the Driver tab and choose Update Driver.
!
Select “Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)” and choose Next.
!
Deselect “Removable Media (Floppy, CD-ROM...), select “Specify a
location” and Click on the Browse box.
!
In the “Browse for Folder” window:
-Click on the “+” to the left of Drive D or whatever letter your
CD-ROM drive is.
-Click on the “+” to the left of Driver
-Click on the “+” to the left of LAN
-Click on the folder WinME
-Select OK
!
Select Next when you see the “The updated driver (recommended)
Realtek RTL8139(A/B/C/8130) PCI Fast Ethernet NIC”
!
Select Next then wait while the driver is installed
!
Click Finish to complete the setup.
!
Click Yes to restart your computer for the changes to take effect
