21 Illumination

21.1 The background light does not work

The background light is divided into two parts, LCD LED and KEY LED.

Start the phone in the test program.

Go to MMI/Display/Top.

Activate background-light with “Disp./Keyb. Led on“ Fig. 21.1.

Check that there is VBATT at X850: 3, if not there is a foil damage.

Measure the ILLUM-signal at R854, 2.7

± 

0.10 V

DC

when activated, measure at the side close

to D600.

If the LCD LED does not work it probably is due to V853.

If the KEY LED does not work it probably is due to V854.

If there is no ILLUM-signal it probably is due to D600 or a foil damage.
