Open the phone and check for liquid damage.
No further action should be taken for a liquid damaged unit, send it on according to the
local company directives.
Power up the board and start it in EFRA with the test program.
Check the feed voltages VCORE.DSP and VDIG.
If the feed voltages are too low, measure the resistance to ground, VCORE.DSP
(>25 kohms) and VDIG (>100kohms).
If the resistance is correct, replace the corresponding circuit (VCORE.DSP – N720),
but if N700 (VDIG) is faulty.
If the resistance is too low, use the circuit diagram.
Remove one component at the time that is fed from the short circuited voltage and measure
the resistance after removing it.
You have found the faulty component when the resistance is raising after removing.
Do not forget to mount all the components that have been removed.
If any of the voltages are to high, replace the corresponding circuit, if (VDIG) is faulty it is
probably due to N700.
If the feed voltages are correct, make sure R519 (PCMDLD) not has fallen of.
If the resistor is mounted and got correct resistance, the fault usually is due to N500, but
sometimes is it due to D600 or D500.
A self-test of the phone in EFRA could be useful to determine which of the circuits that could
be faulty.
