button to start cleaning.
Head cleaning takes about 3 to 14 minutes.
Note:
The more color pairs selected, the longer it takes to
perform cleaning. Depending on the status of the
nozzles and the
Auto Clean Max Repeat
setting,
this function can take up to 24 minutes.
A confirmation message is displayed when
cleaning is complete.

To print a check pattern and check the status of
the clogging, select
Nozzle Check
, and then press
the
Z
button.
To exit without performing a nozzle check, select
Exit
, and then press the
Z
button.
If the nozzles are still clogged, repeat steps 1 to 5 several
times. If the nozzles are still clogged after repeating the
procedure several times in succession, repeat from step
1, and select
Heavy
in step 5.

Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the

If there are faint or missing segments in part of
the colors
Select the colors that need to be confirmed, and
then press the
Z
button to confirm. You can
select more than one at once. When you have
finished selecting, press the
r
button.

A confirmation dialog is displayed. Select

button to start Powerful
Cleaning.
Powerful Cleaning takes about 4 to 16 minutes.
Note:
The more color pairs selected, the longer it takes to
perform cleaning. Also, depending on the status of
the nozzles, it can take up to about 27 minutes.
When Powerful Cleaning is complete, you are
returned to the screen displayed before cleaning
was performed.

determine if the problem has been resolved.

Adjusting print misalignments
(Head Alignment)
If lines are misaligned or print results are grainy,
perform Head Alignment to adjust the print
misalignment.
The print head fires ink when moving to the left and to
the right while printing. Since there is a short distance
(gap) between the paper surface and the print head, a
print misalignment may occur due to the paper
thickness, changes in temperature or humidity, and
internal inertia while the print head moves.
Although Head Alignment can be performed from the
computer or the printer, the alignment procedures
differ as explained below.
