Install - Step 7 (iSCSI) continued
Prepare the iSCSI servers
Download and install iSCSI initiator configuration software
You must install initiator configuration software on each server that will have an
iSCSI connection to the storage system.
For NICs and QLogic iSCSI HBAs:
Install the supported version of the Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator as follows:
1. Open a web browser and connect to the Microsoft website:
http://www.microsoft.com
2. Go to the Downloads page.
3. Search for iscsi initiator.
4. Select and download the latest supported initiator software and related
documentation. On servers with iSCSI HBAs, do not select or download the “Software
Initiator” option.
For information on supported software on a CX3-series storage system, refer to the E-Lab
Interoperability Navigator on the Powerlink website:
http://Powerlink.EMC.com .
For QLogic iSCSI HBAs only :
Install the supported version of the SANsurfer software as follows:
1. Open a web browser and connect to the QLogic website:
http://www.qlogic.com/go/emc_approved
2. Go to the Downloads page.
3. Select the appropriate host bus adapter.
4. Select and download the software and related documentation.
