SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Electrical products should always be used with caution. Take care to:
1. Read all instructions before starting to use the product.
2. Avoid touching hot surfaces. Always use the handles or knob for lifting.
3. Always supervise children carefully if the product is used by them, or if they are
nearby.
4. Unplug the product when it is not in use, or before cleaning. Let it cool down before
taking it apart or assembling it.
5. Do not use the product if the power cord or plug are damaged, if it is not working
correctly or is defective in any other way. Contact your retailer or the nearest author-
ised service centre to investigate, repair or adjust the product.
6. Using accessories that are not approved by the manufacturer could damage the
product.
7. Check that the supply voltage matches the voltage on the product label and that the
wall socket is earthed.
8. Do not let the power cord, plug or base of the product come in contact with water or
other liquids. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
9. Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. If the power cord is damaged it must
be replaced by a suitably qualified person.
10. The product is not intended for outdoor use.
11. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or touch a hot
surface.
12. Do not place the product near a hot gas or electric hob, or inside a preheated oven.
13. Take great care if you need to move the product when it contains hot oil or other hot
liquids.
14. Plug the power cord into the product before you plug it into the wall socket. Before
unplugging, first turn off the product, then unplug the power cord from the wall
socket.
15. To turn off the product, press OFF and unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
16. CAUTION Do not cook food in the base unit alone, as this could damage the prod-
uct. Always use the cooking pot.
17. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as placing frozen food in a hot cooking
pot.
18. Do not use the product for any other than its intended purpose.
19. The product is not intended to be controlled by an external timer or a separate
remote control system.
20. The product is intended for household use.
21. A longer power cord or extension cord may be used if extra caution is taken when it
is used.
22. If a longer power cord or extension cord is used:
– The power cord must be rated for the same mains voltage as the product.
– The cord must be placed so that it does not hang over the edge of a worktop or
table, where children could pull on it or trip over it.
– If the product requires an earthed power cord then the extension cord must also
be earthed.
