4. Insert the replacement FAN (verify that the captive screws are completely loose). As
you insert the FAN, note metal guides that controls its path.
5. Use slot-head screwdriver to tighten the captive screws.
Warning:
Ensure that the fans have stopped spinning before handling the fan
unit.
A.2.
Installing and Removing the Air Filters
The 960E has an option for a dust filter. The dust filter resides underneath the fan unit.
A.2.1. Process

To remove the air filter
1. Remove lower front door.
2. Pull the air filter out along the guide rails.
3. Reverse this process to replace the air filter.
A.2.2. Removing the SFP Transceiver

To remove the SFP Transceiver:
1.
Have anti-static package ready for the SFP Transceiver being replaced.
2.
Make sure you are wearing an ESD strap and that it is connected to the ESD
jack of the 960E chassis.
3.
To extract the SFP Transceiver, pull outward on its ejector and pull the SFP
Transceiver slowly towards the right.
4.
Place the SFP Transceiver in the anti-static package.
A.2.3. Installing the SFP Transceiver

To install the SFP Transceiver:
1.
Remove the SFP Transceiver from the anti-static package.
Save the package for future use.
2.
While holding the SFP Transceiver, carefully slide the SFP Transceiver into the
socket, labeled as 1…8 Tx Rx and verify that it is mechanically locked in place.
Caution
: Do not use force.
