8.2.
Basic Syntax Commands
This section contains instructions for using basic commands after logging into the system.

To verify the EE PROM default settings
1. Type
eer
. See sample screens below.

Note:
If you receive the message, 'ERROR: EESQUARE', restart the
system by turning the power off, re-insert both IPNI cards and then turn on
the system and perform steps 8 and 9 above.

To see all the available commands
1. Type
help
or
?

To get an explanation about the syntax and usage of a command
1. Type
?
followed by a space and the command name.
For example, when typing ?
ethernetip
the terminal response would be:
ethernetip <ip address> < gateway> <subnetmask> <NI NUM (Optional) a/b>

To display default parameters
1. Type
eer
and then press
Enter
.
8.3. Management
Parameters
This section contains instructions for setting various parameters for out-of-band or in-band
configurations. Any changes made to the parameters will be activated only after "ees" and
the NI card has been rebooted.
Obtain the IP Address and IP Gateway from your system administrator.

To set out-of-band configuration parameters
1. Set the IP Address and IP Gateway by typing:
ethernetip <ipaddress> <gateway> <subnetmask> <NI NUM (optional) a/b>
and then press
Enter
.
2. Set the default gateway, by typing:
dgateway <gateway>
and then press
Enter
.

Note:
The default gateway is defined in the same manner as
"default_gateway_value" in the Help.
3. Save the parameters by typing
ees
and then press
Enter
. This saves the
parameter changes to the EEPROM shelf memory.
4. Type
eer
to confirm.
5. Reboot the 960E by typing
restart
at the command prompt and then press
Enter
.
The system reboots.

To set in-band configuration parameters
1. Set the IP Address and IP Gateway, by typing:
Inbandip <ipaddress> <gateway> <subnetmask> <NI NUM (Optional) a/b>
and then press
Enter
.
