4.3 Mechanically joining the cabinet sections
NOTE
The following procedure permits the UPS cabinet sections to be installed in a location where
there is limited space to slide the cabinets together from the sides.
For the following steps, verify that the forklift or pallet jack is rated to handle the weight of the
cabinet (see Table 3-1 on page 13).
1.
Using a forklift, move the UPS UPM section to the final installation location.
2.
Remove one top screw and two bottom screws securing the UPM section wireway panel (see
Figure 4-3 on page 34). Lift the panel straight up to remove it from the panel hanger brackets at the
top of the cabinet.
3.
Remove the screws securing the top and bottom protective cover panels and remove the panels.
Retain the hardware for later use.
4.
Remove the screws securing the corner holder and remove the corner holder (see Figure 4-3).
Retain the hardware for later use.
5.
Remove the screws securing the left top panel and remove the panel (see Figure 4-3). Retain the
hardware for later use.
6.
Remove the screws securing the left middle panel and remove the panel (see Figure 4-3). Retain
the hardware for later use.
CAUTION
Use care during installation to protect from damage the components mounted on the right side
of the ISBM section and the intercabinet wiring harnesses attached to the left side UPM section.
NOTE
Clearance between the ISBM and the left middle panel of the UPM sections must be less than
10 mm so that joining brackets can be installed.
7.
Using a forklift with the forks in the front forklift slots, position the UPS ISBM section adjacent to
the left side of the previously installed UPM section. Verify that the ISBM section right side is
against the UPM section left side and the front of the cabinet bases are flush with each other (see
Figure 4-5).
8.
Reinstall the left front corner holder (see Figure 4-3) and secure using the retained hardware.
9.
Reinstall the left middle panel (see Figure 4-3) and secure using the retained hardware.
10. Reinstall the left top panel (see Figure 4-3) and secure using the retained hardware.
