Cleaning the outer glass and the zero-point reflector:

If the device is indicating a contamination value less than approx. 2%, in general no 

cleaning work is necessary.

Scratched outer glass

During any cleaning operation there is a risk of scratching the outer glass in the 

measuring head. For this reason always take special care when cleaning the optical 

surfaces.
First blow then off with oil-free compressed air to remove any abrasive particles. If 

necessary then carefully clean them off with a soft non-linting cloth, wetted as 

necessary with water and alcohol.

To prevent displacement of the zero point reflector by an automatic contamination 

measurement whilst work is being performed on the screws, first bring the device into 

zero point measurement mode:
