XD10P Cinema Audio Processor, Installation and Operation
Version 1.0
c. Be sure that the RED lead of the cell is connected to the “L” input terminal marked “+” and
the GREEN lead of the cell is connected to the “R” input terminal marked “+”.
d. The BLACK cell leads connect to the low “-” input terminals of BOTH Left and Right
channels respectively.
e. Connect the shielding of the cable to the “GND” terminal. Do not connect the shielding at the
projector end.
f. The D-9 connector should be plugged into the Optical IN 1 input connector of the XD10P.
g. Repeat step 2 for Projector #2, if needed.
3. Film readers with active circuits, such as a line amplifier or a reverse scan reader, will require a
ground connection at the reader.
Good results can be achieved using the drain (shield) wire of the cables listed above, however,
some agencies (such as CE) prohibit using the drain conductor for this purpose. In that case, use
two three-conductor shielded cables (such as Belden Nº 9939), three-pair cable (such as Belden
Nº 8777) or a five-or-six-conductor shielded cable (such as Belden Nº 9941 or 9942).
4. If there are two projectors, the changeover is accomplished by grounding the “C/O” terminal on
the rear of the XD10P.
a. Connect a latching relay with the appropriate rating, so that one coil is powered by the
dowser circuit of projector 1 and the other coil is powered by the dowser circuit of projector
2. The relay contacts must be connected to the “C/O” and “Common” terminals so that the
contacts are closed when Projector 2 is operational. (The projector changeover relay is shown
in the drawing
XD10P – Logic, Hearing Impaired, External Inputs
in Appendix B.)
5. Connect oscilloscope and RTA to XD10P Input module as shown:
