XD10P Cinema Audio Processor, Installation and Operation

Set the scope to the X-Y mode. 

• 

Adjust the focus of the soundtrack lens for the best high frequency response on both left and right 
channels, as shown on the RTA. At the same time, adjust the azimuth for the thinnest display on 
the oscilloscope.

Rotate the lens to achieve the good azimuth pattern.  

• 

To adjust the high frequency (HF) response, move the lens in and out and observe the pattern on 
the RTA (Figure E-7).  The example shown may not be typical of your results.  Try to obtain the 
best response possible.  Final HF adjustment is done using the XD10P Setup software.  See 
chapter 3, page 3-4,

The pattern will either turn up or down on the right hand side.  You want to achieve a pattern that 
is as flat as possible, while keeping the good azimuth pattern.  

  This procedure is complete.  Go back to Buzz track again (step E.1.1) to make sure you have 

not thrown it out of alignment during the subsequent adjustments.  Then lock down the 
projector’s soundhead optics. Repeat the procedure for Projector 2, if applicable.
