I forgot
or lost the Administrator Password
•
Reset
the router to the factory default settings by pressing the
Reset
button at the back
of the router for 10 seconds.
•
If you are still getting prompted for a password when saving settings:
i.
A
ccess the Router’s web interface by going to
http://192.168.8.1
.
ii.
Enter the default password
admin
, and click the
Administration
link.
iii.
Enter a
New Password
and enter confirm the new password.
iv.
Click
OK
to save the new password.
5.
I want to upgrade the firmware
•
If there is a new firmware available, you will be able to find it by searching for the
product/catalog number on the DSE website at
www.dse.co.nz
.
i.
Download the latest firmware and save it on your hard drive.
ii.
Refer to the section on firmware upgrade for the procedure.
6. Testing the LAN path to your router
•
To verify whether the LAN path from your PC to your router is good, you can ping the
router with the following steps:
i.
From the Windows toolbar, click
Start
and select
Run.
ii.
In the open field, type
ping 192.168.8.1
and click
OK.
iii.
If the path is working, you should see a series of messages that read:
Reply
from 192.168.8.1 bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=60
iv.
If the path is not working, you should see the following message:
Request
timed out
•
If the LAN path is not functioning correctly
v.
Make sure the LAN port LED indicator is on.
vi.
Check whether you are using the correct LAN cable.
vii.
Check your Ethernet Adaptor installation and configuration.
viii.
Verify that the IP address for your router and your workstation are correct and
that the addresses are on the same subnet.
7. Failed to connect with the router via Wireless LAN adaptor
•
Ensure that the wireless LED indicator of the router is on.
