9 Troubleshooting
This chapter provides possible solutions to problems regarding the installation and operation of
the router. After each problem description, instructions are provided to help you diagnose and
solve the problem.
1. Router LAN port connection failure
•
Make sure your router is powered on.
•
Check the LED indicator which will be lit when a proper connection is made on the LAN
port.
•
Ensure that your PC and the router are on the same network segment. Initiate the
DHCP function to let your PC get an IP address automatically from the router.
•
Make sure the IP address of your PC is in the range
192.168.8.17 (~ 128)
.
•
Check the Subnet Mask setting. The setting should be
255.255.255.0
.
•
Press the
Reset
button for 10 seconds to restore the factory default settings of the
router. Repeat the above steps.
2. Router configuration through the web browser (by a client PC in LAN) failure
•
Check the hardware connection of the router’s LAN port. The LED will be lit when a
proper connection is made.
•
Check your TCP/IP settings. Please refer to section 5 on how to set the correct TCP-IP
settings.
•
Make sure the IP address of your PC is in the range
192.168.8.17 (~ 128)
