DOLPHIN
To Place Tank in Service
After all plumbing is finished (including the back wash
drain line) restore water pressure to home while the
unit bypass valve is still in the “by-pass” position. This
will enable you to insure there are no leaks in the piping
before adding water to the tank.
INITIAL RINSE: Do not run water in any part of the
house during the initial rinse procedure
Next, plug in unit to a nearby 110V/ac outlet.
(See page 14
for “QUICK SET UP GUIDE”)
Initiate the backwash on the valve by depressing the
Extra Cycle button for 3-5 seconds.
The valve will cycle into the back wash position cycle
#1 and begin counting down the minutes remaining in
cycle 1. Next slowly open only the inlet valve knob of
the by-pass valve, only to 1/3rd the way open, so that
the water may
SLOWLY
fill the tank. This procedure
allows the media to hydrate slowly and will take about
15 minutes. You will observe air, water and carbon fines
coming from the drain line.
Immediately after opening the inlet valve 1/3rd of the
way unplug the valve from the wall socket so the unit
will remain in cycle #1 (1st backwash) until it is plugged
back in. If you leave it plugged in it will automatically
move to the next cycle before the filter media is prop-
erly hydrated.
