The purpose of a point of entry unit is to filter all the
incoming water into the home and therefore should be
installed as close as possible to where the water enters
the home. On municipal water systems the filter should
be located after the water meter and before the water
heater. On well water systems the filter should be located
after the pressure tank and before the water heater.
The filter is to be installed
on the COLD water line only.
Allow 15 feet minimum of piping length between the
filter and the water heater. If this is not possible, install
a check valve in the water supply line between the filter
and the hot water heater to prevent hot water from
backing up into the filter.
To ensure the proper operation, a minimum of
20 psi is necessary. Maximum operating pressure is 120
