4. Overload control of the boom
The moment sensing system prevents the lift from being overloaded by limiting the outreach
of the lift to the side. The allowed outreach depends on the load on the platform.
The loading is monitored with:
• B1-B4 pressure sensors
• RK32 = boom angle sensor
• RK8 = wire rope sensor for boom extention

All movements can be operated normally when the platform is within the allowed operating
range. If the boom system is overloaded or driven to the outreach limit, the moment sensing
system stops the movements that impair the stability of the lift.
Prevented movements:
• telescope extension
• main boom down (main boom down is prevented until the telescope is fully in)
• jib arms up/down
• platform rotation
When the boom is at 90-99% outreach, the signal lights will flash and a sound signal will
sound intermittently.

When the boom is at 100% outreach or over, the warning lights are on and sound signal
sounds continuously.
In this situation, the lift can be operated in the direction, in which it remains inside the
permitted outreach area.
