DC-530 Operation Manual
If you enter an Item Code that has already been programmed, the display will flash red and the error
message
ITEM XXX, EXISTING ITEM
will appear. Then the screen will ask you if you are trying to update the
data associated with this item already existing in memory.
If you enter a
1
from the numeric keypad the screen will flash red and show the message:
You will then be returned to whichever Counting Mode screen you began with - Normal Counting Mode
or TEP Mode.
If you enter a
9
from the numeric keypad to indicate you do not want to take the data you are entering
and associate it with the Item Code already in memory, you will be returned to the Item Registration
screen where you can enter a new Item Code to save the data under.
3. Enter the tare digitally using the numeric keypad. The Tare Weight value must be entered without a
decimal point. The Weight field is 5 digits long and the placement of the decimal point is determined by
Bits 2, 1, and 0 of Specification 21 - Weight Decimal Point Position. The digits you enter for the tare
weight will fill the field starting from the right. (Example: if the decimal point is set as 0.0000 and you
enter the digits 125, the net weight will show as 0.0125.) Note that you cannot establish the Tare Weight
from the scale during Item Registration mode, it must be entered manually.
Press the
+ (Plus)
key. The cursor will move to the field for Set Point 1.
4. You cannot edit the Scale Number field in Item Registration mode. The DC-530 will automatically set
the Scale Number field to the scale the item sample was taken on. The Scale Number field can be edited
in the Edit Item mode (See Section 6.2.3).
5. If Specification 01 Bits 3 and 2 are set to 00:No Operation or 01:Common Set Point then setpoints
cannot be entered for an individual Item Code here. If Bits 3 and 2 are set to 10: Item Set Point, then the
cursor will move to the field for Setpoint 1. Remember that Specification 02, Bit 2 - Setpoint Selection
sets whether the setpoint is programmed on the basis of pieces or weight. The default is 0: Pieces. Enter
a quantity for Setpoint 1 and press the
+ (Plus)
key to move to Setpoint 2. Repeat for Setpoints 2 and 3.
6. When you have finished entering the data for this Item Code, press the
key to save it. The
display will confirm that the scale is saving the new Item Code to memory and then return you to
whichever Counting Mode screen you began with - Normal Counting Mode or TEP Mode..
