Extending the security
Extra siren/Pager output
The system contains a supplementary output which becomes positive only when the siren is sounding. This wire is
identified by a Green and Yellow tag on the end. If not used, this wire should be insulated and its position detailed on the
certificate of installation. This output can be used to drive an extra siren (Pt. No. 02012004), pager/ telephone dialler
(Datatool Text Alert; Pt. No. 08000200).
It is easier to fit any additions at the same time as the alarm installation is taking place therefore it is advisable to discuss
this with the customer prior to installation of the system.
The maximum load this wire can give is 500mA. Should a higher output be required the siren output wire can be used to
control a standard automotive switching relay and any accessories can be driven through the relay.
The same relay can be used to convert the positive output of the alarm into a negative, should the accessory require a
negative input.
Warning:
Do not connect the extra siren wire directly to the motorcycle horn. Should you do this, the output may be
damaged.
Covering accessories
The alarm system has a secondary trigger input (the Green tagged wire), which in certain instances may be able to be
connected to the side stand, clutch or to be used to offer some protection to detachable luggage etc, by looping an
extension cable through it. This is not part of the standard installation and should be discussed with the customer along
with any relevant charges.
If no accessories are being linked to this wire it should be insulated and left at a convenient position for the future. The
position should be recorded on the certificate of installation.
It is also possible to link this secondary trigger wire to the Text Alert product so the alarm, if armed, can be triggered
remotely via the customers mobile phone.
Garage security
The alarm system can be extended to give protection to a garage whilst the machine is parked within it via the Datatool
garage security kit (Pt. No. 02012006).
The garage security kit comprises of 3 magnetic reed switches specifically designed for domestic installation, a dedicated
high quality connector to link the switch system to the machine and all the cabling/clips required to carry out the
installation in most domestic applications.
The kit provides protection when the alarm system is armed, either fully or in ferry mode, and will trigger the alarm as
soon as any protected aperture to the garage is opened.
