1. Touch a bar e m et al par t of t he pr int er ’s fr am e t o dischar ge any st at ic elect r icit y t hat m ay be
pr esent on y our body.
2. Tur n ‘Off’ and unplug t he pr int er . Open t he cov er ; if r ibbon is inst alled, r em ove it .
3. Wit h t he pr int head locked in t he dow n posit ion, loosen t he Pr int head Mount ing Scr ew ( it w ill
r em ain in t he assem bly ) .
4. Unlat ch t he Pr int head Assem bly . While holding t he Pr int head, raise t he assem bly . Disconnect
t he t w o cables and t hen r em ove t he old Pr int head.
5. While car efully holding t he new Pr int head, connect bot h cables.
6. Posit ion t he Pr int head ont o t he Locat ing Pins in t he Pr int head Assem bly and secur e in place
w it h t he Pr int head Mount ing Scr ew ( do not over - t ight en) .
7. Clean t he Pr int head ( see Sect ion 5.2) .
8. Reload r ibbon ( if r em oved) , low er t he pr int head assem bly , and r ot at e t he pr int head lat ch
back, int o t he locked posit ion.

