In Emergency Only
For complete disconnection of electrical power to
the machine use the “
Emergency Off
” power
control on the back of the machine below the left
handlebar.
Caution -
This sudden stop may cause discomfort
to the wheelchair patient.
10) The WheelChair Mover comes supplied with a hitch assembly bolted to the front and
is operated with a handle, latch release, and foot pedal on the rear of the machine.
The hitch handle is connected to the hitch jaws with various solid bars and levers.
11) When attaching the WheelChair Mover to a wheelchair, approach the wheelchair
from behind, centered between the wheels.
12) Two controls are used to operate the hitch;
Warning:
Operating the hitch may pinch hands or legs.
Keep hands and legs clear of the hitch while
moving the hitch control lever or foot pedal.
Caution:
When operation of the WheelChair Mover is not as
described below, disable and mark the machine
and call Dane Technologies for service.
The foot pedal is used to shift the entire hitch to the right or left by pushing on the
right or left pedal. This feature is also used when an O
2
bottle holder brace on
the wheelchair obstructs positioning of the WheelChair Mover underneath the
wheelchair. It is also used to position the jaws securely to both sides of the
wheelchair frames when the WheelChair Mover is positioned slightly off center
underneath the wheelchair. See WheelChair Mover
– Controls View (page 21).
The hitch handle moves both hitch jaws simultaneously as the handle is moved.
Move the handle down firmly to move both jaws out to contact the vertical tube
on the back of the wheel chair supporting the axle.
Note:
Once each day, inspect that the RH and LH jaws
are tight to the hitch bars or damaged and they do
not slide in towards the machine when attached to
a wheelchair.
